Year 3 Home Learning
Welcome to Year 3 home learning.
As our school is currently closed, you can access your child's home learning from this page. This will be updated weekly. As a minimum your child should complete one English, Maths and Reading task daily. There will also be times tables and spelling activities to complete weekly. Thank you so much for your efforts!
English
Up until the February half term the children will be learning to write a news story. This will be in the form of a newspaper article. This will include knowing the key features of an article, learning lots of writing skills and learning about the secret Kingdom of Kush!

Reading Masters
Reading Masters is a form of guided reading. It allows children to read a text and answer different types of questions about it. The children have completed a couple of Reading Masters sessions so they should understand how to complete them.

Maths
This week (Week 2) the children should concentrate on multiplying and dividing a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. By clicking the Worksheets link you can access their daily tasks. There are two sheets to complete daily. By clicking the Answers link you can check your answers.

Spelling Bee
At the end of this half term the children will be tested on these words. The children should practice these every day. The words have been carefully chosen to including spelling rules and statutory words (Yellow words).
Topic
This term we are learning about Africa for our topic. Please complete one topic activity per week.
RE
Why is light an important religious symbol?
week beginning 5th January
create a list of 10 lights that are important to you these could be lights that remind you of hobbies or sports
week beginning 11th January
write an acrostic poem about one of the religious light symbols we have found out about.
What kind of world did Jesus want?
This is our new unit, we will be finding out more about Jesus, the gospels and the parables
